EBC was established as a company limited by guarantee in June 2003, having previously been an incorporated association from April 1998. EBC works to generate positive partnerships between schools and local employers in Sunderland. We have a portfolio of over 20 programs that link with a wide variety of subjects including environmental issues, work related learning, the media, enterprise and new technology. Most programmes have a clear business input and our role is to recruit and train people who can then work effectively to support our work in schools. The EBC Board is chaired by David Clifford OBE, former Managing Director of the Port of Tyne, and has representatives from organisations such as Nike, the University of Sunderland, Alkor, Draka and the construction Industry Training Board.
